In the beginning of January 2004 girls from our Language school and our foreign guests went on a trip to Water Park in Kazan.
We started our trip at 9 in the morning from Yoshkar-Ola and it took us two hours and a half to get to Kazan. We didn't waste our time: during the trip our teacher Smirnova Elena gave her girls a lesson of English on the topic Water and our guests Terry McAnally from the USA and Andrew Pollard from Great Britain helped her. That was very good practice for our girls! Have you ever had lessons in a bus? If no, we all strongly advise you to try it! It was a totally new experience for all of us and we really liked it.
At last we came to the Water Park where we spent three unforgettable hours. Just imagine: from cold Russian winter we got into a hot summer: We had a lot of fun sliding down from water slides at very high speed screaming and laughing like children, we swam and relaxed in pools with artificial waves. The temperature inside is really warm (+32 C), the floors are warmed up and the atmosphere is so good. We enjoyed ourselves to the full and after all the activities we felt tired, happy and very hungry!
We had our dinner at a very nice cafe at the central street of Kazan - Bauman. After the dinner we felt much better and were ready for new adventures. So we decided to visit Raifa Virgin Monastery which is situated not far from Kazan. The beauty of the monastery left a lasting impression on everybody.
We came back to Yoshkar-Ola late in the evening with a lot of impressions and good memories of our trip.
It was the most unusual English lesson we have ever had and the most exciting one. We can say it for sure that our girls know everything about water activities not only theoretically but in practice too.
