Day of people with disabilities (3rd of December) Day of Disabled is celebrated in Russia on the 3rd of December. Disabled people in Russia is one of the most socially unprotected and poor categories of population. Small disability pensions, lack and high cost of medicine and special technical equipment, difficulties with finding work have resulted in the fact that to be a disabled in Russia means to poor. Special social organizations are unable to help them because of insufficient financing from the government and ineffective ways of work managing. This day is to draw attention to the problems of disabled, to prompt to help them in possible ways, to remind us that there are people near us who sometimes do not enjoy simple pleasures of life: walking, communication with friends, visits to cinema and theater, shopping, travelling. On that day charitable concerts, lunches are held, disabled people get presents. We get many requests for help from individuals and organizations before that day.
