3. Is life insurance a must to go to Russia/obtain my visa?
You should not necessarily have a Russian insurance for coming to Russia. At the same time many foreign insurance companies can't cover territory of our country and for the most part are unable to support the insured in emergency cases.
4. What is fast track? Why should I use it?
Fast track is a way to escape unwanted check up at the customs or to pass it very urgently in case of next imminent flight or train departure.
5. Where can I book a train/plane ticket to the city I am planning to go?
There is a way to book a ticket at the train station or an airport. But it's a frequent case when tickets become unavailable or sold out many days before you want to travel, not to mention the day of your departure. 6. Is transfer from Moscow/St. Petersburg International airport available?

8. How much money can I bring with me? Shall I take only cash or credit cards are good too?
Make sure to have enough for food, small presents, excursions or other trips that you may want to make during your stay in Russia. Other than that hotels and apartments are paid in cash too. You can use your credit card in banks or charge them at ATM. Some larger stores and supermarkets accept credit cards too. For charging a credit card in the bank they take from 0.5% to 1% depending on the bank. Stores may be more expensive though.
9. Why should I register my passport? How fast should I do it?
Any foreigner staying on the territory of our country is expected to register his passport. This is required by law and saves from having problems at the customs when leaving Russia. Registration should be done within 72 hours after crossing the country border. Registration can be done in any hotel or a travel agency, which issued a letter of invitation and provided visa support.
