Excursion to the Raifa men's monastery
In the outskirts of Yoshkar-Ola as well as inside the city there are a number of different orthodox churches, chapels, monasteries and also some mosques.
About 85 miles and 1,5 hour drive away from the city there a monastery which is known all over the world, this is Raifa monastery. Many famous people visited it, among them there were lots of Russian politicians.
As you know Russia is a state of several religions and you can visit not only orthodox institutions but also ones of other religions.
